Body of alleged German hostage found in Sulu

ZAMBOANGA CITY—The military confirmed on Monday the recovery of a body inside an abandoned yacht in Sulu.

The body was believed to be a companion of kidnapped German national Juergen Kantner.

Major Filemon Tan Jr., spokesperson of Western Mindanao Command, said the body was found by a civilian around 6 a.m. on Sunday near Laparan Island, Pangutaran, Sulu.

Tan said the body had gunshot wounds.
