Heroic QC fireman hailed

A Quezon City fireman received a medal and a promotion for his bravery after rescuing six tenants, including a 4-year-old girl, from a burning condominium building last week.

Interior Secretary Ismael Sueno on Thursday pinned the Medalya ng Kabayanihan on SFO1 Florencio Azonsa of the Quezon City Fire District, in awarding rites held at Chinese General Hospital in Manila where the fireman was recovering from breathing problems he experienced during the Oct. 31 fire. —JEROME ANING
