Bong Revilla rushed to hospital

Detained former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. was rushed to the hospital on Saturday morning due to hypertension and vomiting, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.

In a statement, PNP said Revilla was brought to the emergency room of the PNP General Hospital in Camp Crame in Quezon City after he experienced vomiting, severe headache and hypertension. This is not the first the former senator has had a bout with hypertension.

Based on the recommendation of the hospital’s head doctor, PNP said Revilla was brought to the St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig City onboard an ambulance. Revilla arrived at around 11:15 a.m.

As of posting time, the former senator is undergoing x-ray examination.

Revilla has been detained at the PNP custodial center after since June 2014 after he was charged with plunder in connection with the pork barrel scam for the alleged misuse of his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF). IDL
