President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday night visited the tomb of his parents at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in his hometown Davao City.
Duterte, who was accompanied by his son Sebastian, arrived around 10:30 p.m.

The President bowed on his parents’ grave and kissed the marble casing.
Asked by reporters if he would like to be buried at the heroes’ cemetery if the time comes, he said he’d rather be buried beside his father former Gov. Vicente Duterte and mother Soledad Duterte.
“The greatest honor a man can have is to be buried from where he came from. Katabi nanay at tatay ko (Beside my mother and father’s tomb),” he said.

Duterte usually visits the graves of his parents on All Saints’ Day, on their death anniversaries and on their birthdays.

After his insurmountable lead during the May elections, the former Davao City mayor visited his parents’ tomb and wept uncontrollably.
