BIR bashes DSWD in Arena hoop

THE Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) routed the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), 59-26, Monday afternoon at the start of the Association of Regional Executives in National Agencies (ARENA)-7 Sportsfest-2011 basketball tournament at the Sacred Heart School covered court in Gen. Maxilum Ave., Cebu City.

BIR led 12-2 in the opening quarter and posted its biggest advantage after unloading a, 25-2 attack in the second for a commanding 33 points lead, 37-4, at the bend.

Yoli Meso orchestrated this telling run with power-forward Leo Galvez, Cris Diamos and Allen Sorela.

BIR was on cruise control the rest of the way.

Team skipper Yoli Meso scattered 11 points to lead BIR while Adam Rellin paced DSWD with 13 markers.
