Llamados end two-game slump

THE B-MEG Llamados ended a two-game slide with a 97-80 victory over the Powerade Tigers last night in the 27th PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Llamaods raced to double-digit leads right from the get go and posted leads of as many as 29 points.

The Tigers, however, roared back and staged a huge fightback in the fourth with Sean Anthony scoring five straight points and Marcio Lassiter scoring on a fastbreak layup that showed the Tigers within 65-74 with still 7:08 left.

Josh Urbiztondo and Peter June The Llamados then joined hands to stop the roaring Tigers with he former hitting a three-pointer and the latter connecting on his own trifecta and a layup, restoring an 82-65 lead for the Llamados.

After a basket by Lassiter, James Yap scored from the perimeter, Joe De Vance hit two free throws and Kerby Raymundo hit a a mid-range jumper as B-Meg put the game away, 88-67, with only 3:15 ticks left.

Simon topscored for the Llamados with 21 points, while Yap finished with 20 markers.

Mark Barroca added 11 points and De Vance had 10 for the Llamados, who sealed their second win in four games.

The Tigers fell to 2-3 (won-loss), absorbing a second straight loss after taking a painful 72-73 defeat at the hands of the Barangay Ginebra Kings last Saturday. /EDITORIAL ASSISTANT CALVIN D. CORDOVA
