CEBU CITY — Two men were killed in a motorcycle crash in Consolacion town, northern Cebu past 5 p.m. on Monday, police said.

Ruben Genite and his brother-in-law Robert Daza died after they were thrown off the motorcycle, which hit a concrete barrier along the national highway in Barangay Poblacion.

PO1 Jean Punay, investigator of the Consolacion Traffic Police, said the victims were headed to the Consolacion Public Market from the adjacent town of Liloan when Genite, the driver, lost control of the motorcycle.

The two victims did not wear helmets when the accident happened.

“Based on our investigation, they were supposed to go to the public market to buy food. Traffic was not heavy from Liloan to Consolacion. Most likely, Genite drove the motorcycle too fast,” he said.  SFM
