Tandem-riding motorcycle men kill drug surrenderer

A drug surrenderer was killed in Marikina City on Wednesday evening after several still-unidentified men on a motorcycle shot him repeatedly.

Senior Supt. Lorenzo Holanday, Marikina police chief, said that Arman de la Paz, 47, died around 6 p.m. on P. Burgos Street in Sto. Niño.

With his name on the drug watch list of the barangay, he had surrendered earlier under the government’s Oplan Tokhang program, the police said.

According to the Eastern Police District, De la Paz’s case was among the 10 deaths recorded since July in Marikina City that were under investigation./rga
