CAMP PACIANO RIZAL, Sta. Cruz, Laguna—A two-year-old boy was stabbed to death by his uncle in Biñan City, Laguna on Wednesday morning, police said.
The suspect, Haji Bombasi, 21, yielded to authorities after admitting that he stabbed Adrian Bombasi near their home in Barangay Sto. Nino, Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz, Laguna police director, in a text message said.
Investigation showed the boy’s mother, Ma. Angela Coloma, 21, had just arrived home from an early morning errand when her other son, Kiel, 4, told her that the suspect, who was her brother-in-law, took Adrian to a dumpsite in their village at around 8:30 a.m.
Coloma followed them to the site and found her son dead with seven stab wounds in the chest and back.
“The suspect did not attempt to flee. He instead went to his aunt and confessed what he did,” Superintendent Leo Luna, Biñan City police chief, said by phone.
Bombasi’s aunt, Caridad, took the suspect to village officials at around 9:30 a.m. The suspect was then brought to police custody.
Luna said they are still trying to find out if the suspect was under the influence of drugs or suffering from mental instability as they could not establish what drove the suspect to kill the boy.
The suspect lived in the same house with the family of Coloma.
