BATANGAS CITY — A village chief was shot and wounded by two gunmen in Santo Tomas town, Batangas province on Tuesday, police said.

Senior Supt. Leopoldo Cabanag, Batangas police director, said Leonor Angeles, Barangay Santa Clara chairman in Santo Tomas, was closing the door of the village hall when she was attacked by hitmen on board a motorcycle at 10:30 a.m.

Cabanag said Angeles was taken to the St. Cabrini Hospital, also in Santo Tomas, for treatment.  SFM
