WHITE-Blackwater upset league-leader Red-Uy Network, 55-47, Saturday night for its 4th win in five games (4-1) good for the solo lead in the 2nd elimination round of the Power Dealer Basketball Club (PDBC)-2011, Inter-Color basketball tournament at the Sacred Heart School court in Gen. Maxilum Avenue.
White jumped to a, 19-10 lead in the opening period and widened its advantage to 12 points, 31-19 at the half.
Marcial Fernandez led White with 15 points while skipper Canjo Fernandez added 14 markers. Clint Suelto paced Red with 17 points while Fred Vitug and Jomer Mejias combined for 24.
In the other game, Yellow-Royale Power Dream Green-Natasha/MSE Patriots, 69-39, by far the biggest winning margin in the tourney. Yellow improved to 4-2 and tied with Red at second place behind league leader White.
Yellow only led by a single digit in the opening half but posted its biggest lead in the fourth behind a back-breaking, 24-6 run to seal the 30-point massacre.
Joy Logronio and Arnold de Asis led Yellow with 18 and 17 points, respectively while Andrew de Gracia added 13 markers. Sim Tabique and Skye Mercado paced Green with 27 points combined.
