TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan — One person was feared dead while another was missing after a small ferry overturned at a cove near Isabela province when Typhoon Lawin blew through that province on Oct. 19, according to a belated report on Monday (Oct. 24).

The names of the possible fatality and the missing passenger of Queen Jennifer were withheld pending confirmation from Divilacan town in Isabela, said the source from the Office of Civil Defense.

They were on board the vessel — along with its captain and three other people — which took refuge at the Dimasalansan Cove before Lawin hit land.

But the anchored boat was overturned by strong waves, according to the account given to the OCD source.

The OCD contacted Divilacan because of an appeal made by a resident here who could not locate her brother.  SFM/rga
