Quezon City police create Task Force Kaluluwa for ‘Undas 2011’
MANILA, Philippines—The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has created Task Force Kaluluwa to maintain peace and order in cemeteries and other crowded places during Undas (All Saints’ Day), a report from Radyo Inquirer 990 AM said Tuesday.
According to Chief Superintendent George Regis of QCPD, Task Force Kaluluwa will be composed of three sub-groups—Alpha, Bravo and Charlie.
Alpha will be in charge of anti-criminal operations, Bravo will head the security inside the cemetery, and Charlie will be deployed in major bus and train stations, Regis said.
Regis added that police assistance desks will be installed inside cemeteries and other areas from October 27 to November 3.
Meanwhile, Regis reiterated that security officers will not allow deadly/bladed weapons, alcoholic beverages and stereos, among others, to pass through the gates of the cemetery.
A rerouting scheme has also been devised for visitors who will bring their own cars, Regis added.—Chona Yu
