MANILA, Philippines—The bodies of a man and a woman believed to be victims of summary execution  were discovered before dawn Tuesday in front of the building of a law foundation seeking to eradicate injustice in Manila.

Both victims appeared to have been strangled and smothered to death with packaging tape and nylon rope and disposed of in front of the Aegis Juris Law Resources of the Aegis Juris Foundation building at the corner of Laong Laan and Navarra Streets in Sampaloc.

Aegis Juris Foundation Inc is a socio-civic organization composed of members of the Aegis Juris fraternity of the University of Santo Tomas with the mission: “Do no injustice. Suffer no injustice.”

Manila Police District homicide  investigators described the male victim as between 35 and 40 years old, five-foot tall, slim, and clad in a white shirt worn and denim pants.  The female victim was said to be  between 30 and 35 years old, five-foot-two inches tall, with a tattoo on the ankle, and curly, shoulder-length hair.

The unidentified woman was clad in a gray t-shirt embossed with the words: “Silence me with your lips please every time,” and  black pants.

Police Officer 2 Bernardo Cayabyab, case investigator, said that the male victim still had a blue nylon cord and packaging tape looped around the neck. The woman was in nearly similar condition but with packaging tape wrapped around her face.

Cayabyab said the bodies were found at around 4:50 a.m. by several passing motorists who immediately informed members of the neighborhood watch.

Barangay executive officer Reynaldo Manalang verified the report and found the bodies lying separately on the pavement in front of the Aegis Juris building.  He immediately sought police assistance.

Cayabyab theorized that the two were killed elsewhere and their bodies dumped outside the building.

The bodies were taken to the Cruz funeral parlor for autopsy.
