CA OKs appointments of new gov’t, military execs

The Commission on Appointments (CA) has unanimously confirmed the appointments of new government and military officials, including Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

Aside from Medialdea, the CA also approved on Wednesday the ad interim appointment of Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.

The commission also approved the nomination of Toribio Elises Ilao Jr. as a member of the Judicial and Bar Council, representing the private sector. Ilao’s term would expire on July 9, 2020.

The nominations of four Philippine ambassadors were already confirmed by the body.

The four are the following:

  1. Alan Timbayan as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the State of Qatar
  2. Philippe Jones Lhuillier as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Spain with concurrent jurisdiction over the Principality of Andorra
  3. Antonio Manuel Revilla Lagdameo as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom and Great Britain and Northern Ireland with concurrent jurisdiction over Ireland, Isle of Man, Bailiwick of Guernsey, and Bailiwick of Jersey; and
  4. Charles Cabayan Jose as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Malaysia. RAM
