Coffee Festival

As the birthplace of the Philippines’ coffee industry, Lipa City in Batangas province showcases its major product during the weeklong festivities. A major coffee exporter during its heyday in the 1980s, the city tries to revive the coffee industry.

Inug-og Festival

A weeklong celebration of the culture of Subanon, the riverine people of Mindanao, in Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental province.

Lanzones Festival

Festivities in Mambajao town, Camiguin province, where lanzones grows in groves, showcase the fruit in street dancing, parades and a tableau competition.

Sagingan Festival

In Tubod town, Lanao del Norte province, where over 50 varieties of banana are presented in a number of activities as the town’s major agricultural product.

Oct. 20 to 23

Carabalsa Festival

A festival in Manay town, Davao Oriental province, featuring the Mandaya culture and the tradition of making copra. Carabalsa is a portmanteau of carabao and “balsa,” or bamboo rafts, which were used by the natives to transport goods.

Rimat Ti Amianan

 

Rimat Ti Amianan or “treasures of the North” is held in San Fernando City, La Union province, featuring cultural presentations, food festivals and agritrade, tourism and technology fair.
