THE UNIVERSITY of San Carlos (USC) faltered in its campaign in the football competition of the ongoing 16th University Games (Unigames) in Capiz, Roxas City .
The Warriors bowed to the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman, 1-2, yesterday.
USC head coach Gary Panagsagan said the muddy field caused by a heavy downpour proved to be their downfall.
Palarong Pambansa stalwart and RP U19 team member Hanesin Prince Antony prevented USC from getting shut out with a goal in the 67th minute of the match.
Despite the loss, Panagsagan remains confident that his boys will enter the top 2 in their bracket.
The team will face Ateneo de Manila University tomorrow. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
