DAGUPAN CITY – Four suspected robbers were killed in a shootout with the police in Manaoag town at 1:39 a.m. on Friday (Oct. 14).
The slain suspects allegedly robbed a gas station, and sped off in a vehicle, said Senior Supt. Oliver Lee, Pangasinan provincial police director.
The vehicle drove through a checkpoint at the highway along Poa village in Manaoag and fired at the policemen triggering a gunfight.
All four passengers of the vehicle were killed. They have not yet been identified.
Recovered from the suspects’ vehicle were 4 handguns, an M-16 rifle, police athletic uniforms and caps, a cashier’s drawer and receipts from the gas station.
Lee said the vehicle may have been used in another robbery in Quezon City.
