LPA expected to turn into tropical depression

A low pressure area (LPA) monitored since Tuesday is forecast to develop into a tropical depression.

As of 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the LPA was located 715 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Residents of Eastern Visayas and the Caraga region were warned of landslides, flashfloods, cloudy skies with  occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms.
