President Duterte swore into office on Tuesday 124 government appointees led by lawyer Amado Valdez as chair of the Social Security System and party mate Martin Diño as chair of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority.

Other key appointees who took their oath before the President were lawyer Karen Jimeno as public works undersecretary for legal affairs; Berna Romulo Puyat as agriculture undersecretary; Jorge Sarmiento, communications undersecretary; Raoul Creencia, Noel Kintanar, Felipe Judan and Garry de Guzman as transportation undersecretaries, and Rico Judge Janvier Echiverri, local government assistant secretary.

Ambassadors sworn in were Jose Laurel V, to Japan; Roy Cimatu, Special Envoy of the President to the Middle East; Philippe Lhuillier, to Spain; Norman Garibay, to Kenya; Shirley Ho-Vicario, to Nigeria, and Alan Timbayan, to Qatar.

The officers of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines were also sworn in.
