SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna — Two suspected drug pushers were killed in a shootout with policemen following a drug bust in Calamba City in Laguna province early Monday.

In a report, Senior Supt. Joel Pernito, Laguna police director, said undercover policemen conducted a buy-bust operation targeting suspects Marlon Malabo and a man known only as Buloy at 3 a.m. in Barangay San Cristobal.

The suspects, however, sensed that they were dealing with policemen, prompting them to flee on a motorcycle.

Pernito said the suspects, when cornered, began firing at a police car pursuing them, prompting policemen to shoot them.

The motorcycle that the slain suspects used did not have a plate number, leading police to believe it was stolen, Pernito said.  SFM
