MANILA — A 34-year-old drug suspect was shot dead while asleep in his Sta. Ana house early Sundaymorning.

Unidentified attackers killed Fabie de Asis about 5:40 a.m. and left a note on his floor saying he’s a drug pusher that should not be emulated.

The case investigator, SPO2 Jonathan Bautista of Manila Police District homicide section, said barangay officials had told police that De Asis surrendered twice during the police’s “Oplan Tokhang” in their area.  (Oplan Tokhang is the Philippine National Police’s house-to-house campaign to convince known drug users and pushers in the community to surrender to the police and undergo drug rehabilitation.)

“But based on information provided to us by the barangay, he’s still peddling drugs,” Bautista said.

His house on Road 15 was also being used as den by his clients.

De Asis was asleep when attacked. No witness has come forward as of Sunday night.  SFM
