MANILA, Philippines—A market porter was killed while a bystander was hurt in a shooting incident in Quezon City early Monday, police said.

Senior Police Officer 1 Bong Santos Jr. of the Quezon City Police District Station 1 identified the fatality as Jojo Panaga, 46, who was riding his bicycle at Balintawak market when the suspect came up to him and shot him in the head at close range at around 4:25a.m.

He said that a bystander identified as Jessie Bukod was injured after the bullet that passed through Panaga’s head hit his stomach.
