SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna — A suspected drug pusher died in a gunfight with policemen who were serving a search warrant in Tanauan City in Batangas province on Tuesday.

Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran, information officer of the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) regional police office, said Regie Javier, a resident of Barangay 4 in Tanauan, was hit as he exchanged shots with policemen at 5:45 a.m.

Javier died while being taken to the Sto. Tomas General Hospital in Sto. Tomas town.

Gaoiran said police recovered a .45-gun and five sachets of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from the slain suspect.  SFM
