Taguig drug gang member gets life term

/ 02:47 AM October 05, 2016

A MEMBER of the Tiñga drug syndicate who was arrested in 2009 was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment by the Taguig City Regional Trial Court. Joel Tiñga was also ordered to pay a fine of P500,000 by Judge Antonio Olivete of RTC Branch 267 in a decision dated Sept. 20. Based on court records, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency put Tiñga under surveillance after a woman told PDEA that he had asked her to look for buyers of illegal drugs. The tipster then introduced Tiñga to Kevin Codamon, the designated poseur-buyer, who said he needed a regular supplier because he wanted to sell drugs in the province. Tiñga  was arrested after selling 10 grams of “shabu” worth P60,000 to Codamon on  June 22, 2009, at 160-F ML Quezon Street, Barangay Lower Bicutan.   Erika Sauler
