A new weather disturbance has entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau said Saturday.
In its 11 a.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said severe tropical storm “Igme” (international name: “Chaba”) has entered PAR Saturday morning packing sustained maximum winds of 100 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 125 kph.
The storm, which was moving at a speed of 25 kph northwest, was last spotted 1,380 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora.
It is forecast to exit PAR on Tuesday morning.
Pagasa said moderate to occasionally heavy rains are expected within Igme’s 600-kilometer diameter.
