Student dies in Quezon road mishap

LUCENA CITY, Philippines – A high school student was killed in a vehicular accident along the Quirino highway in Tagkawayan town in Quezon province Friday morning, police said.

Report from Quezon police headquarter said the victim, Crishaliz Joy Almarez, 15, was crossing the highway in Barangay San Isidro when a car being driven by Agusto Ocampo Jr. accidentally bumped her.  The victim died while being taken to Tagkawayan District Hospital.

The suspect escaped after the accident but later surrendered at the police station in nearby Lopez town.
