Faulty wiring blamed for Talisay fire; 15 homes destroyed

CEBU CITY — Fifteen houses were destroyed during a fire that hit an urban poor village in Barangay San Roque, Talisay City, about 12 kilometers south of here, on Thursday.

Randy Mendaros, fire investigator of the Talisay City Fire Department, said the blaze started past 2:40 p.m. from the second floor of the house owned by Monalisa Monte in Sitio Kimba, Barangay San Roque.

He said the fire was believed to have been triggered by faulty electrical wirings.

It was put under control at 3:23 p.m.  SFM/rga
