ANS booters start bid in Pintaflores tourney

THE ABELLANA National School (ANS) Pomeroy will start its campaign in the U16 football competition of the 4th Pintaflores National Invitational Tournament today in San Carlos City.

The team’s first assignment will be tough as they will go up against Barotac Nuevo Iloilo at 3 p.m. The last time they met in this same tournament last year, they ended their match in a 3-all draw.

The team is manned by goalkeepers Markevin Delantes and Patrick Polistico; defenders Shane Sarmiento, Daryl Villaver, Major Deen Ebarle, James Dwight Bacus, Alquin Manayaga, and Michael Anthony Ruete; midfielders Jesson Batayola, Rogello castellon Jr., Kerth Ryan Arranguez, Kennedy Cuizon, Dan Montayre, Renko Gaudiel; and strikers Pedro Agustin Diao, John Michael Gomora, and Reynald Amante.

The team’s head coach is Francis Ramirez and assistant coach is Danny Ramos.

There are only six teams invited for tournament. ANS-Pomeroy is the only team from Cebu . Aside from ANS Pomeroy and Barotac Nuevo Iloilo, also seeing action are San Carlos City , Bukidnon Football Association (FA), Negros Oriental Football Association (NORFA) Dumaguete and Don Bosco Victorias.
