The mayor of Cainta, Rizal, suspended classes in all levels in the town Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, due to heavy rain spawned by the habagat. Classes in certain towns in Rizal and Bulacan have also been suspended.

“Heavy rain experienced in the last few hours and the forecast of more rain in the next 6 hours compel me to cancel classes in all levels both public and private today,” said Mayor Johnielle Keith Nieto in his Facebook post at 5 a.m., Wednesday.

Rizal provincial information officer Tony Mateo said only Cainta, Taytay, Rodriguez and San Mateo suspended classes in all levels.

Antipolo City Mayor Jun Ynares and the city’s disaster coordinating council announced on the Facebook page of Rizal Province that classes in all levels in the city were also suspended.

Classes in all levels have also been suspended in Malabon, Navotas, and in the Bulacan towns of Meycauayan, Marilao and Bocaue, reported dzMM. CBB
