CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela — A barangay (village) leader was killed by gunmen as he left a restaurant on Monday (Sept. 26), two months after he survived an attack in July.
Cornelio Mamauag, Barangay Villa Concepcion chairman, intended to proceed to San Mateo town and was headed for his vehicle when he was ambushed at 9 a.m. He was shot three times. The killers drove off in a blue van, which had no license plates.
Mamauag was injured in a gun attack on July 12.
On Tuesday (Sept. 27), Mayor Bernard Faustino Dy put up a P200,000-reward money for information that would help in the capture of Mamauag’s killers. SFM
