Six international flights were cancelled on Tuesday morning due to bad weather caused by Typhoon Helen (international name: Megi), the Manila International Airport Authority (Miaa) said.

In an advisory, Miaa said the following flights of Philippine Airlines (PR) and China Airlines (CI) were cancelled:

  • CI 702/703 MNL-Taipei-MNL
  • PR 428/427 MNL-Narita-MNL
  • PR 896/897 MNL-Kansai-MNL

As of 11 a.m., the state weather bureau said Helen had maintained its strength as it was about to make landfall in Taiwan.

Storm Signal No. 2 remains hoisted over the Batanes Group of Islands, while Signal No. 1 was in effect over northern Cagayan and the Babuyan Group of Islands. YG/CBB
