Classes in Iloilo City suspended due to floods

ILOILO CITY—Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog ordered the suspension of classes at all levels in the city early Tuesday due to flooding triggered by heavy and continuous rains.

Mabilog said the directive covers both private and public schools.

The city and the rest of Western Visayas is not under any storm signal but heavy rains brought by Typhoon “Helen” spawned flooding in several areas in the city causing heavy traffic and stranding passengers ‪Monday evening./rga
