2 suspected drug pushers killed in Quezon shootout
LUCENA CITY, Quezon — Two suspected drug pushers were killed after they engaged policemen in a shootout following a drug bust in Calauag town in Quezon province on Sunday, police said.
Chief Insp. Michael Avestruz Encio, Calauag police chief, said Ar-Jay Cabrera and Rodante Aday died instantly in the gunfight in Barangay Doña Aurora at 7:30 a.m.
Police recovered two guns – a .32 and a .38 – and two plastic sachets of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and marijuana leaves from the slain suspects.
Police said Cabrera’s name was on the Quezon police’s list of “high-value” targets in the illegal drug trade.
In a follow-up operation, policemen, armed with a search warrant, raided the house of Cabrera in the same village.
