A suspected drug pusher was killed and eight others were arrested in separate antidrug operations in Muntinlupa and Las Piñas cities.
Melchor Guinto was killed in a shootout with operatives of the Southern Police District’s anti-illegal drugs unit at his residence in Purok 7C, Ilaya Street, in Muntinlupa, at 4 a.m. Saturday, according to case investigator SPO1 Ronnie Tamondong.
Guinto’s live-in partner, Leilani Pinor, who also transacted with the police, was arrested for violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
The scene of crime operatives recovered a fired cartridge of .45-cal. pistol, a .38-cal. revolver with five live ammunitions, a sachet of suspected “shabu” and a weighing scale.
In Las Piñas, five suspects were caught in the act of sniffing shabu when police conducted Oplan Tokhang on Medina Compound, Barangay Talon 4 at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Arrested were Arthur Tolentino, 49; Braulio Egaya, 42; Aries dela Vega, 24, all residents of Talon 4; Jose Mark Tejeresas, 23; and Edu Jaime Jr., 32, both residents of Talon 1.
Recovered from them were seven sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.
Las Piñas police also arrested Eduardo Lanceta, 42, and Acer Joy Salvacion, 23, during the regular police surveillance on Kamansi Street, Barangay CAA at 9:30 p.m.
Four sachets of suspected shabu were seized from the suspects.
