Longer nights in PH starting Thursday
There will be longer nights in the Philippines after the autumnal equinox on Thursday, September 22.
“This year’s autumnal equinox will occur on September 22 at 10:21 p.m.,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in its astronomical diary.
Philippine nights will be longer as the Sun moves below the celestial equator towards the southern hemisphere.
The equinox usually signals the change in season.
The vernal equinox occurs on March 20 or March 21 and marks the beginning of spring. The autumnal equinox occurs on September 22 or 23 and marks the beginning of autumn, Pagasa explained.
Sunrise on Thursday is set at 5:45 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:52 p.m. TVJ
