Passengers of a commercial flight from Saudi Arabia were allowed to disembark after being placed in total isolation at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.

Passengers of Saudia flight SVA 872 from Jeddah, who were identified as returning pilgrims from Hajj, started deplaning shortly before 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

In a statement, the Manila International Airport Authority (Miaa) said it received information from the Manila Control Tower that the Saudia flight was “under threat” 20 miles before landing.

Passengers should have disembarked at 1 p.m.

Miaa said authorities conducted standard operating procedure in accordance with the airport emergency plan.
