The Office of the Ombudsman has ordered the filing of new graft and malversation charges against former Bukidnon Rep. Candido Pancrudo Jr. in connection with the pork barrel controversy.
Pancrudo faces trial for allegedly funneling P49.2 million of his Priority Development Assistance Fund allocations to supposed ghost projects from November 2007 to June 2008.
The funds were channeled through the Technology Resource Center and the National Agribusiness Corp. as implementing agencies, with Farmerbusiness Development Corp. and Uswag Pilipinas Foundation, Inc. as the partner non-government organizations.
The Ombudsman cited the Commission on Audit’s report that there was no evidence that the funds were used for their intended purposes. It also flagged non-compliance with procurement and liquidation rules. RAM/rga
