Alleged drug lord arrested in Bohol

DAUIS, Bohol – An alleged drug lord from Mindanao was arrested here on early Saturday morning.

Lawyer Arcelito Albao, supervising agent of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Bohol, identified the suspect as Ramil Lim Mulleon, 42, of San Fernando, Bukidnon.

He would be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Albao said an interception was conducted past midnight on Saturday inside an inn in Barangay (village) Tinago, in this town, after they received reports that Mulleon was in Dauis town.

Albao said Mulleon was under surveillance for one month after a police in Bukidnon informed him that Mulleon was engaged in illegal drugs trade in Bohol province.

Mulleon, a rattan vendor, said he arrived at 3 a.m. on Friday in Tagbilaran City from Cebu.

In the afternoon, he went to Dauis and Panglao towns to check for a possible location to start a business.

He said he was in Bohol province three weeks ago. However, he denied that he was in Bohol to engage in illegal drug trade.

“Nagplano ko mag-negosyo pero tuna gikan sa GenSan kay walay tuna diri gikan sa GenSan (I plan to start selling tuna here from General Santos City because there is no tuna here from General Santos),”  he said.

He said he was tagged as a drug lord because he had friends who were arrested by police on suspicion of being drug lords.
Mulleon said he stopped peddling shabu when President Duterte assumed office.

But the NBI said their agents found 10 pieces of small strips of suspected shabu inside one of Mulleon’s bags.

Albao said the group of Mulleon was operating in Bohol province after pushers were arrested in Bukidnon.
“He left Bukidnon to transfer operation here without realizing that the province is active on the campaign against drugs,” said Albao. CDG
