3 armed drug suspects killed in encounter with QC police
Three drug suspects armed with guns and grenades were killed in an encounter with the police in Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Masambong police station head Supt. Igmedio Bernaldez said about 30 of his men were conducting Oplan Tokhang at around 2:30 p.m. in Sitio San Roque, Barangay Pagasa, when the suspects led by Alex Bacora alias “Dats” opened fire at the cops.
“While the police officers were approaching the shanty house where Bacora lives, he and two other companions—an alias Mesy and alias Camal—fired at our policemen,” Bernaldez added.
Recovered from the suspects were a .45-cal. pistol, a .22-cal. gun, two hand grenades, sachets of “shabu” and other drug paraphernalia. Policemen at the scene said the suspects were about to throw the grenades had they not shot and neutralized the three.
Bernaldez also said that from the pieces of evidence recovered from Bacora’s rented shanty, the three suspects were repacking shabu before the policemen arrived in the area.
The bodies of the suspects had not been removed from the crime scene at around 6 p.m. since the Explosives Ordnance Division still had to clear the grenade recovered from the suspects.
