‘Ferdie’ felt like earthquake striking Batanes Capitol — governor
BASCO, Batanes — Residents suffered through strong winds on Tuesday night (Sept. 13) and early Wednesday morning (Sept. 14) as Typhoon “Ferdie” struck this northern most part of Luzon.
Residents said winds were strong enough to push open doors and windows.
Batanes Gov. Marilou Cayco stayed at the provincial Capitol to coordinate rescue and police teams she put on standby. She reported that the winds shook the building so hard “it felt like an earthquake.”
