Queen City United suffers second loss

THE Cebu Queen City United (CQCU) absorbed its second loss in the United Football Cup 2011-2012 of the United Football League (UFL) after getting routed by the Stallions FC, 0-8, yesterday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.

The Stallions take solo lead in Group C with six points on two wins and a loss, while the winless CQCU stays at the cellar.

Joo Young Lee started the scoring spree for the Stallions with a goal just 10 minutes into the ballgame. It was followed seven minutes later by Yong Jae Pi.

Reuben Doctora Jr. and Jae Woo Kim also had three goals each for the Stallions’ runaway win.

Doctora scored his goals at the 27th, 78th and 80th minutes. Kim, on the other hand, scored at the 55th, 66th and 68th minutes.

CQCU’s goalkeeper Alex Buanghug managed nine saves but succumbed to the Stallions’ unrelenting onslaught.

The CQCU also had seven corner kicks which all failed to find the back of the net.

CQCU also had six yellow cards while the Stallions got only one.z

The Cebu team will have one last chance to post a win against Pachanga FC next weekend.  /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
