THE GOVERNMENT-run Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) is offering special scholarships to Grade 6 pupils who are gifted in the arts, music or theater for the next school year, according to the Department of Education (DepEd).
In a memorandum, Education Secretary Leonor Briones said the special secondary school for young artists is accepting applications for full special K-12 secondary scholarships for school year 2017-18.
An applicant must be a Filipino citizen, a Grade 6 student in a private or public school at the time of application, and not older than 14 upon enrollment in June next year.
Requirements include: Fully accomplished PHSA scholarship application form; photocopy of birth certificate issued by the National Statistics Office; Grade 5 or Grade 6 report card; and one-page resume citing the applicant’s accomplishments in his or her chosen field of arts.
The screening of applicants will be held at the following regional testing centers: Masbate, Legazpi City, Angeles City, Nueva Ecija, Laoag, Cagayan and Laguna starting this month until November; Tacloban, Bohol, General Santos City and Butuan in October; and Metro Manila in December.
