LEGAZPI CITY – A magnitude 2.1 earthquake shook Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The PHIVOLCS bulletin said the tremor, which was of tectonic origin, was recorded by agency instruments at about 2:01 p.m.

It was 37 km in depth and was located 2 km south or 36 degrees east of Naga City in Camarines Sur. No damages to public and private structures were reported.

The bulletin said the quake was slightly felt in some parts of Camarines Norte and Naga City where the Virgin of Peñafrancia’s Traslacion procession is being held to mark the start of the nine-day Feast of “Ina,” the patroness of Bicolandia. JE
