OLONGAPO CITY — A drug suspect was killed while three of his companions were wounded in a gunfight with policemen during an operation on Tuesday evening (Sept. 6).
The unidentified suspect was shot dead by Zambales operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) at a house in Barangay (village) West Bajac-Bajac at 11:30 p.m., said Chief Insp. Ferdinand Mendoza, head of the CIDG Zambales.
Mendoza said the suspects fired at the policemen after sensing they were dealing with police agents.
The suspect’s accomplices were wounded during the gunfight but they managed to escape, Mendoza said.
A 15-year old boy, who was with the suspects, was arrested after admitting he was sniffing shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) with the other suspects before the authorities arrived.
Police seized from the suspects’ house four plastic sachets containing alleged shabu, a .357-revolver, five live bullets, and the marked money. SFM
