Did you know: 138th birth anniv of Sergio Osmeña Sr.

Today, Sept. 9, is the 138th birth anniversary of Sergio Osmeña Sr., the country’s fourth president.

A former member of the House of Representatives and a former senator, he was elected vice president in 1935.

He assumed the presidency after the death of his predecessor, Manuel L. Quezon, on Aug. 1, 1944.
