In Cavite, police said Michael Angelo Alba, 42, engaged policemen and anti-narcotics agents in a gunfight as they tried to serve a search warrant in Barangay Talaba 6 in Bacoor City at 5:30 a.m.

Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran, information officer of the regional police in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), said policemen recovered a .38-gun and two sachets of marijuana from Alba.

In Rizal, police said Jesie Norona, alias Jing-Jing, 38, resisted arrest and shot undercover policemen in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Antipolo City on Wednesday afternoon.
