CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — A colony of illegal settlers beside a brewery here may have become a haven for suspected drug users, three of whom were slain by policemen.

Orlan Paman, Danny Latid and Joseph Jay Caasi were killed when they fought arresting police officers during a Sept. 2 operation at the brewery’s compound in Barangay (village) Quebiawan, according to a report released on Tuesday (Sept. 6) by the Central Luzon regional police in Camp Olivas.

Three women and 12 men, aged 18 to 47 years old, were apprehended in the raid.

The police seized 50 sachets of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), assorted drug paraphernalia, a .38-revolver without visible serial numbers, another .38-revolver, a .22 Smith and Wesson Magnum revolver and the marked money used by police undercover agents.  SFM
