MANILA, Philippines–Feelings of betrayal allegedly drove on Friday a 46-year-old beauty parlor owner to poison himself in Manila.

Juan Baldisimo, owner of the Joan Ganda parlor at 1282 Kagitingan Street in Tondo, was found lying face down on the floor of his shop with blood oozing from his nose and mouth.

A suicide note, addressed apparently to two people including his lover, which he had posted on one of the shop’s mirrors read: “I have ill-feelings toward you. Walang utang na loob (Ingrate).”

Senior Police Officer 1 Mario Asilo, of the Manila Police District homicide section, said that the body was discovered at around 6 p.m., Friday, inside the parlor, several hours after Baldisimo was last seen alive at around 11 am.

FEATURED STORIES

Asilo said that Baldisimo could have guzzled a toxic substance, based on his observation on the condition of the body.

He pointed out that the relatives of the victim refused to have the death investigated further because they were convinced that Baldisimo had committed suicide and no foul play was involved.
