TODAY, Sept. 5, is the 87th birth anniversary of National Artist for Architecture Ildefonso P. Santos Jr. He made his first mark in modern landscape architecture with the Makati Commercial Center. His contribution to modern Filipino landscape architecture includes the public landscape in Paco Park, Manila. Santos was conferred the title National Artist in 2006.
